Terms of Service

Agreement

Koaline ("the Service") is operated by 8BITES, David Rudman s.p. ("we", "us"), a sole proprietor registered in Slovenia, with registered office at Vrh pri Ljubnu 2B, 8000 Novo mesto. Matična številka: 8058865000. Davčna številka: 22436286 (not VAT-registered, pursuant to Article 76.a of ZDDV-1). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to visitors, newsletter subscribers, and users with an account.

The Service

Koaline is a task and work management platform currently in early access. Features may change, be added, or be removed as the product evolves. We may modify or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

Beta period

Koaline is currently in a beta period during which the Service is offered free of charge. We expect to introduce paid plans approximately one month from the date above. When that happens, you will be notified by email and given the option to subscribe, continue on a free tier (if offered), or stop using the Service before any charges apply. No payment will be taken without your explicit consent. As we are not currently VAT-registered, prices — once introduced — will not include VAT.

During the beta, the Service is provided on a best-effort basis. Data loss, downtime, and breaking changes may occur. We recommend keeping independent backups of any information that is important to you and not relying on Koaline as your sole system of record during this period.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Koaline, you confirm you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to agree to these terms.

Accounts

You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for any activity on your account. Notify us promptly at david@koaline.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to break the law, infringe others' rights, distribute malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, scrape or abuse our infrastructure, or interfere with other users. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Your content

You retain ownership of the tasks, notes, and other content you create in Koaline. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for the content you upload and for ensuring you have the rights to it.

Our content

The Koaline name, logo, software, and website are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks or branding without written permission.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle your data. By using the Service, you agree to that handling.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Koaline and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50 if you have not paid us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. If changes are material, we will notify you by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the Service will be resolved by the competent courts in Slovenia. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you retain the protections of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence.
